Moonves on Globes' suit witness list

A gallery of industry figures, including CBS' Leslie Moonves, producer Dick Clark and NBC's Marc Graboff are among individuals listed as witnesses within the approaching trial within the privileges towards the Golden Globe Honours. The Hollywood Foreign Press Assn. prosecuted Dick Clark Prods. in November, declaring it hatched a contract with NBC to broadcast the ceremony through 2018 without its approval. But DCP claims that within 1993 amendment to some previous agreement created using the HFPA, it had the authority to result in the deal. In documents filed now, Moonves was listed one of the witnesses the HFPA needs to call because "he'd discussions" with Mark Shapiro, former Boss of DCP parent company Six Flags, and also the HFPA about getting the broadcast to CBS after 2011. "Throughout the path of these conversations Mr. Shapiro made sure claims to Mr. Moonves regarding DCP's knowledge of its contractual obligations towards the HFPA" underneath the relation to a 1987 agreement and also the 1993 amendment, the HFPA mentioned. Also on HFPA's witness list are Graboff, leader of west coast business procedures for NBCUniversal Tennis Funnel chief financial officer William Simon, an old DCP executive Francis La Maina, leader of DCP once the 1993 amendment was signed and numerous current and former HFPA people, including its former leader Mirjana Van Blaricom, who began her very own rival press association and award ceremony within the mid-the nineteen nineties.
